After a two year hiatus, we are delighted to once again welcome some of the country’s finest winemakers to meet, greet, and eat with our NOMAD regulars.

For the next wine dinner in our 2022 series, we will be hosting one of the pinnacle producers of the Yarra Valley, Giant Steps. Steve Flamsteed is a master of Burgundian varietals, and his devotion to single vineyard bottling over the last twenty years is one of the most exciting wine projects in Australia.

Join Steve as we explore the nuances of the Yarra Valley and how the terroir of the region is expressed through both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. We will be tasting wines from the new release 2021 Single Vineyard range, as well as the very exciting ‘Ocarina’ Chardonnay and Fatal Shore Pinot Noir – the winery’s recent venture into Tasmania. The Giant Steps wines will be enjoyed alongside a specially designed menu by executive chef Jacqui Challinor.

About Giant Steps

Located in Victoria’s Yarra Valley, Giant Steps is recognised as a global benchmark for cool climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The winery was established in 1998, one year after founder Phil Sexton arrived in the Yarra Valley in search of ideal sites to produce Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of purity and finesse. Enlisting the help of Chief Winemaker Steve Flamsteed who joined the winery in 2003, the two set to create a range of wines that personify the Yarra Valley.

Today, the winery is regarded as one of the most progressive in Australia and is recognised globally for its pursuit of site expression. The wines are among the most anticipated releases from Australia and considered benchmarks for the Yarra Valley.
